Disney’s Pop Century Resort is our go-to value resort when we book at Walt Disney World. We have stayed here numerous times over the years, and it has become one of our favorites, especially for RunDisney Race weekends. It’s close to ESPN Wide World of Sports for the Expo and only shares the bus with Art of Animation, in which Pop Century is the first stop!

Vibrant Style at Pop Century
As soon as you turn onto Century Drive and see the vibrant colors of the resort, you feel excited and ready to immerse in the fun and playfulness of the Disney bubble.
Fads of the 1950s – 1990s theme Disney’s Pop Century Resort and pay homage to the timeless catchphrases, fashions, toys, dances, and music that have captivated the world throughout the decades. It features a larger-than-life design with giant yo-yos and Play-Doh® to Rubik’s Cube® and classic Disney characters such as Mickey, Roger Rabbit, Lady and the Tramp, and the Jungle Book that adorn the buildings.

Classic Hall at Pop Century
The beautiful lobby features decades of cool memorabilia that will bring on nostalgia. Once you check in at Classic Hall, you’ll notice the Everything Pop Shopping and Dining area. It’s a wonderfully large gift shop where you can buy merchandise, snacks, and alcohol. It has a vast food court and a grocery area full of incredible food options and treats. Another nice perk is the Fast Forward Arcade for kids and adults.
Pop Century has ten buildings themed in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, surrounded by a nice walking/running trail that skirts along Hour Glass Lake. Our favorites are buildings 3, 4, 5, and 6 due to the proximity to the main pool, Classic Hall, park buses, and Skyliner.

Pop Century Food Court
Everything Pop Food Court is one of our favorite quick-service spots. The menu accommodates almost every craving, and the portions are significant for the price. They have a simple mobile order system that we use all the time. We like to order food from the bus on our way back from a park and swing by to pick it up and take it to the room for the night.
Pop Century Resort Pools
Pop Century has three themed swimming pools – The spirit of the ‘60s lives at the Hippy Dippy Pool in the center of the property right outside of Classic Hall and the ‘60s buildings. This is where the only pool bar on the property is located – Petals Pool Bar.

The Bowling Pool is in the 50s area, and the Computer Poll is in the center of the 80s and 90s buildings. These two pools are typically far less crowded as they are positioned quite a ways from the pool bar, food court, and lobby areas. It’s a nice place to lounge in a quieter space!

Themes at Pop Century Resort
The 70s buildings are equally in the middle of the Computer Pool and The Hippy Dippy Pool but don’t have a pool dedicated to themselves. But they have an incredible giant foosball table that will make you feel like a kid again!
Pop Century Resort also has several different types of games spread throughout the property, such as Twister, Giant Chess, and Checkers, along with other family activities such as Campfires, Movies Under the Stars, and a playground area.

The Rooms at Pop Century Resort
I am in love with the modern and refurbished rooms at Pop Century. It’s perfection, from the furniture styling with sleek and contemporary lines to the Worhol-like Mickey artwork. We have stayed in several rooms in the resort, and they are all identical in decor. However, we did notice that rooms with adjoining doors to other rooms seemed to have a slightly smaller footprint.
The bathrooms are well-lit and can be closed off with a sliding barn door and a closing door to the toilet and shower/tub area, making it easy for multiple people to get ready for the day or clean up for a good night’s sleep.

The rooms we have stayed in have a queen-sized bed with a queen-sized table bed equally comfortable as the main bed. It’s incredible how the table turns into a bed when needed and back into a table with just one motion! Each bed area has lighting and electrical outlets with USB ports, too.
These standard rooms have a mini fridge, ice bucket, plastic cups, coffee maker, supplies, and plenty of cubbies and storage. We easily spent an entire race weekend with tons of luggage in these rooms and enjoyed it very much.

Pop Century Resort Property
Pop Century Value Resort is a favorite place to walk around the entire property and take in the sights and music of the eras. I love to take photos whenever I go and almost always see something new. The walking path along the lake has excellent signage with fast facts from each year represented throughout the resort. Taking silly photos of and with the characters is always fun.

Walt Disney World Skyliner
One of the most significant advantages to staying at Pop Century is the multiple transportation options. Like all Disney Resorts, they have their bus terminals with buses running to each park and Disney Springs every few minutes. However, Pop Century has some extra magic by connecting to the Disney Skyliner.

The Disney Skyliner was a fantastic addition that opened in September 2019. It connects Art of Animation and Pop Century to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot International Gateway (the back entrance of Epcot near the Boardwalk Resort Area), Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.
The Skyliner is easy to use and often a less crowded way to get around besides peak times like park closing. We ride it as often as possible to get around, and it’s a very cool place to see the evening fireworks as you head back to your resort before the crowds! Just another reason why we love Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation so very much!
