Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

We recently shared our experiences at our favorite Disney All-Star Resort, the All-Star Movies Resort. Today, I’d like to share about the All-Star Music Resort, which, while not our top pick, is still a convenient and comfortable option for those looking to stay close to the magic of Disney but not pay the big Disney prices.

Since we are annual pass holders who visit the park a couple of times a month, we sometimes check the hotel rates to see if there are any Florida Resident or Annual Passholder discounts at the resorts. We often find All-Star rooms for close to $100/night, which is almost unheard of at Disney. And while the value resorts do not have all the amenities or luxury of other resorts, you can’t beat the convenience of staying at a resort with free Disney transportation, especially when you are there to drink around the world!

A Musical Stay at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort features vibrant musical themes, fun amenities, and easy access to the Disney parks. As one of Walt Disney World’s value resorts, it offers an affordable option for families and music lovers.

During the pandemic, all of the All-Star Resorts were closed for refurbishment to the guest rooms, and they have turned out to be great.  However, the theming around the resort is a bit outdated, and I think it could be really cool if it was updated and brought into the current era a bit more.

Location and Accessibility

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort is located in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area, alongside its sister resorts, All-Star Movies and All-Star Sports. Complimentary bus transportation is available to all four Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, and other Disney resort areas, making it easy to explore the magic of Disney.

Dining Options

The resort provides two simple dining options to suit different tastes and schedules:

Intermission Food Court: This quick-service food court offers a variety of dining options, including American favorites, international dishes, and healthy choices. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and has easy mobile order options.

Singing Spirits Pool Bar: Located near the Calypso Pool, this bar serves refreshing beverages and light snacks, perfect for enjoying by the poolside.

The food court offers convenient grab-and-go items for those on the move, as well as hearty meals for a sit-down experience. We almost always use the mobile order option and pick up our food to take to our room to relax.

Shopping

Maestro Mickey’s is the resort’s gift shop, offering a selection of Disney merchandise, apparel, toys, and music-themed souvenirs. It’s a great spot to pick up a memento of your stay or any essentials you might need.

Themed Sections

The resort is divided into five themed sections, each celebrating a different genre of music with larger-than-life decor:

Calypso: Feel the Caribbean rhythms with giant maracas, bongos, and tropical decor. The main pool area, Calypso Pool, is located here.

Jazz Inn: Swing into the smooth sounds of jazz, surrounded by towering saxophones, trumpets, and notes.

Rock Inn: Rock out with electric guitars, amplifiers, and a bold rock-and-roll theme.

Country Fair: Step into the world of country music with banjos, boots, and rustic charm.

Broadway Hotel: Experience the glamour of Broadway with bright lights, marquees, and show-stopping scenery. This is where we stayed and it was a bit of a walk to the main building but overall we liked this section a lot.

Room Accommodations

All-Star Music Resort offers a variety of room types to accommodate different party sizes and needs. We almost always choose the standard rooms, and they work just fine for two adults without kids. Standard rooms feature:

  • Two double beds – one is a Murphy bed
  • Mini-fridge
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Flat-screen TV with Disney programming
  • In-room safe
  • Hairdryer
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Shower/tub combo with Shampoo, Conditioner, and my favorite sea salt body wash

For larger groups, the resort offers Family Suites, which include:

  • Two bathrooms
  • A master bedroom with a queen bed
  • A living area with a double-size sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair
  • Kitchenette with microwave, mini-fridge, and sink

Personally, I think these rooms are perfect for couples, or maybe a couple with one or two very young kids, but anything more than that and it would be cramped. Connecting rooms are available upon request for larger groups, another great option for race weekends.

The rooms feature modern decor featuring classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. These rooms are decorated and have layouts almost identical to Pop Century and the other All-Star Resorts. Now that we have officially stayed in all three, we prefer the overall theme of movies over music or sports.

Recreation and Amenities

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort is packed with recreational activities and amenities to enhance your stay:

Calypso Pool: The main pool area, featuring a Three Caballeros-themed fountain, is a vibrant and fun spot to cool off and relax.

Piano Pool: This secondary pool is shaped like a grand piano, offering a quieter alternative for a relaxing swim.

Movies Under the Stars: Enjoy nightly outdoor Disney movie screenings, perfect for winding down after a day in the parks.

Jogging Trail: Take a scenic run or walk along the 1-mile trail connecting the three All-Star Resorts.

Playground: Little ones can burn off energy at the music-themed playground.

Note’able Games Arcade: An arcade featuring a variety of games for all ages, providing fun and entertainment beyond the parks.

Tips for a Great Stay

Book Early: As a popular value resort, All-Star Music can fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons, holidays, and race weekends.. Booking early ensures you get your preferred dates and room type.

All-Star resorts are a great option when you want to stay within the Disney bubble but save some money. They also have complimentary race day transportation, which we think runs faster than some of the larger and more expensive resorts.

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort combines the magic of Disney storytelling with the convenience and amenities needed for an easy, and comfortable stay. From its whimsical decor and music-themed sections to its dining and recreational options, this resort provides a memorable and budget-friendly option for a quick vacation. Overall, this resort is great for short visits and a place to lay your head at night, and I’m sure we will stay there again in the future.  Have you stayed there? What did you think?
