Is it worth adding the Photopass to your Disney trip or annual pass? I’ll let the photos from the last eight years of being Walt Disney World Passholders speak for themselves…

RunDisney and Photo Pass

Plus, if you participate in RunDisney Races and already have the Photo Pass, they make it incredibly easy to link your bib number for up to 5 runners, and all of your photos will automatically show up in your MDE app – My Disney Experience App within a few hours of the race finish!

What is the Disney Photopass?

So, what is Disney Photopass?  To sum it up, Disney’s PhotoPass service is the name of the overall photo system at Disney World. Walt Disney World has hundreds of PhotoPass photographers strategically stationed at the parks’ perfect and most iconic photo spots. Also, he offers ride photos on select attractions, plus character meet and greets!

With PhotoPass, you can take photos in all the parks, including my favorite –  Magic Shots, where Disney will place special effects in your pictures after they are born. Plus, since somebody else is taking the image, you’ll be able to have everyone in your group in your photo with you. Side note: You can also request the photographers to take pictures using your camera.

After you’ve taken photos throughout your trip, you can review them all in the My Disney Experience App. Suppose you have purchased Memory Maker or One Day or are an Annual Passholder who has added on the PhotoPass option as we do. In that case, you can download your pics easily onto your phone or computer. If you haven’t purchased Memory Maker, your photos will have a watermark, and you won’t be able to download them unless you select a photo product to buy.

So our answer is YES – for $99 for one year, we can take unlimited photos, and it has been wonderful to use this system when it’s just the two of us or when we meet up with friends or family – plus the RunDisney races! Lasting memories we will cherish forever; just creating this post took me down memory lane and brought a big smile to our faces!

p.s. All of the custom Minnie Ears and Disney shirts you see in our photos were either purchased on AmazonEtsy, Hot Topic, Target, or at the official Disney stores! Find ALL of our affiliate links on our SHOP!

  1. This is going by 2019 numbers, but is was about $15 to download one digital photo. If you get just 7 photos taken, it paid for itself. Totally worth it!!
