Vip Mexican American Cuisine in Indian Rocks Beach is our favorite go-to spot along the beach!
VIP is now in IRB
As I’ve mentioned countless times on this blog, Mexican food is my love language, and we constantly search for new favorites in the area. One of our favorites since moving here in 2015 is VIP Mexican in Treasure Island, but they opened a new and much larger location in Indian Rocks Beach in March of 2021. So, of course, we had to check it out… a few dozen times or so!
This is one of our favorite places to celebrate birthdays, meet with family, spend holidays and anniversaries, or grab drinks before a beach sunset.

New VIP IRB Location
The original location in Treasure Island is very tiny and busy, so the new location offers much-needed space but the same quality food, drinks, and service. Nestled in the heart of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, lies the brand new VIP location just across from the Gulf of Mexico. It offers ample indoor seating with a massive indoor bar, a street-side patio, a sizeable outdoor paver patio, and a covered outdoor bar with even more covered seating.
Parking can be tricky everywhere along the beach, and VIP has a tiny lot, but often, you can find parking within a few blocks. IRB is a lovely beach town to take a stroll in.
The best food and drinks on the beach
One of the highlights of dining at VIP Mexican Restaurant is the opportunity to indulge in their signature dishes and specials. Whether you’re craving vegetarian options, seafood, or steak, each dish is crafted with the finest ingredients and a dedication to authenticity.
And what’s a Mexican dining experience without a refreshing cocktail to accompany your meal? VIP Mexican Restaurant’s drink menu is just as impressive as the food.
Thursday is our favorite day to go because they have their signature (very strong) house margaritas for less than $5 🙌 Both locations are just a short walk across Gulf Blvd to the Gulf of Mexico for a beautiful sunset after dinner.
What you should eat at VIP
Our absolute favorite dishes are the seared tuna roll, the three amigos chips & dip, the fish tacos, Mexican pizza, and Chile Relleno. 🌶 We also really enjoy the quesadillas, rice bowls, and nachos – we’ve honestly never had anything at VIP that we didn’t love.
We highly recommend eating in or carrying out VIP anytime you are vacationing or visiting the Pinellas County beaches. They serve incredible food and drinks that will knock your socks off – It never disappoints! Follow them on social media for real time updates – Facebook
