Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Now that I am all caught up on writing about our Japan Trip 2024, I decided to dive back into my archives. Naturally, the content I have the most of to share is mainly about Disney! So, I decided to return to our Disney World Resort series. I aim to visit every Disney park in the world and hope to someday stay in every resort hotel and eat in every restaurant at Walt Disney World. What’s life without dreams and challenging goals, right?

We have been annual pass holders since 2016 and typically go to Walt Disney World several times a year for either a quick day trip, special occasions where we might stay a night or two, or longer RunDisney Weekends. We have stayed in several resorts so far, but often, it is the Value Resorts or Good Neighbor Hotels. I’ve already blogged about Pop Century, Art of Animation, Coronado Springs, and four nearby Flamingo Crossings Hotels.
Pop Century is our favorite Value Resort; however, after the renovations at the Disney All-Stars Resorts, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. So, let’s check it out!
A Magical Stay at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, part of the trio of All-Star Resorts at Walt Disney World, is a fun movie-themed, family-friendly, and budget-conscious option for a magical Disney stay. With its larger-than-life decor, themed areas, and numerous amenities, this resort offers a delightful experience for all ages. We are Disney adults without children and have stayed at All-Star Movies on more than one occasion. We even stayed here during Mark’s first Disney Marathon, and it was an excellent experience for a race weekend.

Location and Accessibility
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is located in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area, along with All-Star Sports Resort and All-Star Music Resort. Complimentary bus transportation is available to all four Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, and other Disney resort areas but is often shared with the other All-Star Resorts. Its excellent central location ensures you’re never too far from the magic.
Shopping
Donald’s Double Feature is the resort’s gift shop, offering a wide selection of Disney merchandise, including apparel, toys, and souvenirs. It’s the perfect place to pick up a memento of your stay and everyday items you may need during your visit.
Dining Options
The All-Star Movies resort offers two options for on-site dining:
World Premiere Food Court: A cinema-themed food court where the star of the show is classic all-American fare. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, providing plenty of choices for every meal, and has a mobile order option that works out great. We love to order food while we are on the bus back to the hotel, and it’s easy to swing through the food court on the way to your room at the end of a long park day or Disney race.
Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar: Located near the main pool, this bar serves a range of refreshing beverages and light snacks, perfect for a poolside break.
Plus – Salads, fresh fruit, and a variety of plant-based dishes are also available for those seeking healthier options. This is always super important for us during race weekends, and the variety offered here was sufficient.
Recreation and Amenities
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort offers lots of recreational activities and amenities during your stay:

Fantasia Pool: This main pool features Sorcerer Mickey with spellbinding water fountains. There’s also a separate kiddie pool. It’s massive, but can also be packed during peak season.
Duck Pond Pool: Inspired by “The Mighty Ducks,” this hockey rink-shaped pool is a quieter alternative for relaxing and swimming than the main pool.
Movies Under the Stars: Enjoy nightly outdoor Disney movie screenings, a perfect way to unwind after a day in the parks. This is an older schedule, but we love the variety of movies they show here.

Jogging Trail: Take a scenic run or walk along the 1-mile trail connecting the three All-Star Resorts. This is great if you visit during a RunDisney training cycle.
Playground: Little ones can burn off energy at the themed playground between the 101 Dalmatians and Toy Story sections, it’s adorable.
Reel Fun Arcade: An arcade featuring various games for all ages. My husband particularly enjoys this amenity since he is a giant kid at heart when it comes to arcade games.
All-Star Movies Campfire Activities: Gather round as the sun goes down for old-fashioned family fun as you roast marshmallows by a crackling fire. This is a darling activity located behind Fantasia Pool between Buildings 5 and 8 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm nightly (weather permitted).
Themed Sections
Like all Value Resorts, the theming is over the top and full of nostalgia. The All-Star Movies resort is divided into five themed sections, each celebrating a beloved Disney film:
Toy Story: Featuring giant replicas of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and other characters, this section transports you to Andy’s Room. This is probably the most fantastic area to be in if you have kids.

Fantasia: We love the iconic Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the magical brooms, and all the nods to this beloved movie around the buildings and main pool. We always try to request a room in this central area.

101 Dalmatians: Enjoy the company of Pongo, Perdita, and their spotted pups with tons of adorable puppy details.
The Mighty Ducks: Skate right down memory lane in this sports-themed area; you can’t help but hope you run into Emilio.
The Love Bug: Take a nostalgic trip with Herbie, the lovable Volkswagen Beetle. While this theme seems to be the most outdated, I love a good Volkswagen!

Room Accommodations
All-Star Movies Resort offers a variety of room types to accommodate different party sizes and needs. We typically stay in a Standard room which features:
-Two double beds – one is a Murphy bed
-A mini-fridge
-Complimentary Wi-Fi
-Flat-screen TV with Disney programming
-In-room safe
-Hairdryer
-Iron and ironing board
-Shower/tub combo with Shampoo, Conditioner, and my favorite sea salt body wash
Personally, I think these rooms are perfect for couples, or maybe a couple with one or two very young kids, but anything more than that and it would be cramped. Connecting rooms are available upon request for larger groups, another great option for race weekends.
The rooms feature modern decor featuring classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. These rooms are decorated and have layouts almost identical to Pop Century and the other All-Star Resorts. Now that we have officially stayed in all three, we prefer the theme of movies over music or sports.

Best Advice – Book Early
As one of Disney’s more affordable options, All-Star Movies Resort can fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons, holidays, and race weekends. All-Star resorts are a great option when you want to stay within the Disney bubble but save some money. They also have complimentary race day transportation, which we think runs faster than some of the larger and more expensive resorts.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort combines the magic of Disney storytelling with the convenience and amenities needed for an easy, and comfortable stay. From its whimsical decor and movie-themed sections to its dining and recreational options, this resort provides a memorable and budget-friendly option for a Disney vacation. We ended up really loving this resort, and I’m sure we will stay there again in the future. Have you stayed there? What did you think?
