Why We Keep Going Back to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs
With over 60 dining options and 100+ shops at Disney Springs, you’d think we’d be trying somewhere new every time we visit. From upscale restaurants to quick bites, the options are truly endless. But despite the endless options, we keep finding ourselves back at one familiar, comforting place—Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
And especially during the high-energy runDisney race weekends, this restaurant has become our go-to spot for post-race celebrations.
Homecomin’ pays homage to Florida’s rich agricultural heritage by highlighting local ingredients and farm-to-table food. There’s something about Homecomin’s Southern hospitality and crave-worthy comfort food that makes it feel like a warm hug after a long day at the parks—or after conquering a 10K or half marathon.

Comfort Food Done Right
The menu at Homecomin’ is full of Southern-inspired comfort food with a Florida twist, and it never disappoints. Think buttermilk-fried chicken, shrimp and grits, Church Lady deviled eggs, and mac and cheese that’s unforgettable. Their weekend brunch is also a crowd-pleaser, featuring dishes such as fried chicken and doughnuts, fried egg avocado toast, and Rise and Shine cocktails.
Our favorites include the church lady deviled eggs, fried chicken salad, and fried chicken and doughnuts! No matter what we order, it always hits the spot—especially after a long run or a long day of park hopping.

Cocktails + Walk-Up Bar Perks
One of our favorite features at Homecomin’ is the Moonshine Bar, where you can order creative cocktails, local brews, or their famous moonshine-based drinks. (Their Florida Crush, White Peach Sangria, and Shine Flight are always winners!)
If you can’t get a reservation—or just want to keep things casual—you can head to the walk-up Shine Bar outside the restaurant. They make it easy to order drinks to-go, which you can sip while browsing shops or soaking in the atmosphere around Disney Springs. It’s the perfect mix of convenience and Disney magic.

Tips for Dining at Disney Springs
With so many people heading to Disney Springs—especially on evenings and weekends—dining reservations are highly recommended. That said, we’ve had great luck with the walk-up wait list at Homecomin’ if we’re willing to wait a little while and explore the shops in the meantime. And with so many fun stores to browse (World of Disney, Uniqlo, Gideon’s Bakehouse, and more), the wait honestly flies by.
Chef Art’s Story
Part of what makes this restaurant so special is the story behind it. Chef Art Smith, a Florida native, rose to culinary fame as Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef and has cooked for celebrities, presidents, and royalty worldwide. But no matter how far his career has taken him, his heart has always remained rooted in the flavors of his Southern upbringing. Homecomin’ is his love letter to Florida—bringing farm-fresh ingredients, family recipes, and Southern hospitality to the heart of Disney Springs.
Whether it’s the mouthwatering food, laid-back atmosphere, friendly service, or moonshine cocktails, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ continues to win us over every single time. It’s comforting, consistent, and feels like home—even in the middle of one of the busiest places at Walt Disney World.
It’s no surprise that this has become one of our most-loved dining spots at Disney Springs. If you haven’t tried it yet, make it a priority—especially after your next runDisney finish line moment. Trust us, your tastebuds (and tired feet) will thank you.

I’m supposed to stay away from fried foods, but those chicken and donuts might be worth it. 😛
