World Travel – South Africa – Kruger National Park –Olifants

Okay friends… it’s been a long haul so far… To recap we went from Tampa, FL to Germany to Cape Town to Kruger National Park where we have now been to Skukuza, Satara and now on to Olifants! If you have missed any of the first 7 posts – you can catch up with our full 14 day itinerary and continue to look forward to the last 3 posts coming each Sunday!

World Travel – South Africa – Kruger National Park – Satara

The first 24 hours in Kruger National Park were incredible and our stay at Skukuza Camp was one of my favorites of the trip but we only spent the one night there before we headed north to our next destination – Satara Rest Camp.

World Travel – South Africa – Day Four – Hermanus

One of the excursions that we had pre-booked for Day 4 in South Africa was a Whale Tour with Southern Right Charters in Hermanus.  However, sadly the weather caused the company to cancel the boat trip out of safety and once we saw the waves we felt very thankful.

World Travel – South Africa – Day Three – Wine Tour

On day three, we woke up in our beautiful hotel and had the most amazing buffet breakfast – the breakfast alone is reason to book a stay at Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront – Cape Town, but also it is wonderfully central to everything we wanted to do.  After a hearty breakfast we were picked up by a fantastic guide from Wine Flies- Wine Tour and whisked away on an all-day wine adventure! Wine Flies focuses on authentic wine farms in the Stellenbosch region with a guided drive through the town itself, one of the oldest towns in South Africa.  You learn so much about the people, local delicacies and the culture behind the wine industry in South Africa – it was amazing.

World Travel – 14 Day South Africa Itinerary

In late August – early September 2022, we embarked on an incredible two-week adventure with 4 of our friends to South Africa. The sole purpose and intention for this great 14-day experience was to see animals in the wild where they belong. Not in a zoo, cages, people’s backyards, etc., we’ve seen way too muchContinue reading “World Travel – 14 Day South Africa Itinerary”

World Travel – South Africa – Day One – Germany

Our South Africa Adventure started in Germany- An absolute trip of a lifetime, so much so that it took me several months after coming home to comprehend what a life-changing journey it was for us. World Travel – Travel to Belize Vacation 2021

Our first trip to Belize was in 2019 and that is when Mark and I officially fell in love with everything about it.  We had wanted to return sooner but when the entire world shut down in 2020 we just continued isolating and dreaming and held out hope that we would return again soon.  I really wanted to plan a very special 40th Birthday celebration for my husband Mark in Nov 2021 and we had been brainstorming ideas with friends for local and far away destinations. Belize really checked all the boxes for a fantastically fun adventure that isn’t expensive and isn’t that far away. None of us had traveled internationally since before the Pandemic so we thought this would be a good jumping-off point!

About us – October in Northern Ohio 2021

Mark and I were both born and raised in Ohio but we high tailed it out of there in 2015 and swore we would never look back at cold dreary weather. Each of us have made small trips back, but mostly for sad reasons (losses in the family) and not at all since the pandemic started. I’m ashamed to say I hadn’t seen my in-laws in over 4 years and had never even met my sweet little nephew – it was weighing on me… then my family experienced two more sudden losses this year – so I said enough was enough, life is too short, and we bought Allegiant non-stops flights to Toledo to spend a couple of days with Mark’s family before it truly gets Northern Ohio cold!
