By now, you know that Epcot is my favorite Disney park. That’s because it hosts all my favorite festivals and my favorite Disney ride. BUT did you also know that Epcot has some really great sit-down restaurants, too?!?

Dining in Orbit: A Guide to Space 220 at EPCOT

Space 220 at EPCOT is one of the most immersive and out-of-this-world dining experiences at Walt Disney World. Located next to Mission: SPACE, this space station-inspired restaurant takes guests on a culinary journey 220 miles above Earth. With its stellar ambiance, gourmet space-themed menu, and unique dining experience, Space 220 is a must-visit for Disney fans. Here’s everything you need to know about how to score a reservation, what the restaurant is known for, and the exclusive D3 group.

How to Get a Reservation or Join the Waitlist

Securing a table at Space 220 can be as challenging as a rocket launch, but with some strategy, you can make it happen:

  • Advance Dining Reservations (ADR): Reservations open 60 days in advance at 6:00 AM Eastern Time. It’s best to book right then, especially if you plan to dine during peak times.
  • Walk-Up Waitlist: If you couldn’t snag a reservation, try joining the walk-up waitlist through the My Disney Experience app or by checking in at the host stand. Availability depends on the day’s crowd levels and cancellations.
  • Last-Minute Cancellations: Keep checking the app, as some guests cancel at the last minute, especially within the 24-hour window.
  • Lounge Seating: If you can’t get a table, consider the Space 220 Lounge. It’s first-come, first-served and offers a selection of the restaurant’s best drinks and small plates.

What is Space 220 known for?

Space 220 is not just about food but a full-out-of-this-world experience. Here’s what makes it special:

  • A Virtual Space Elevator Ride: Before dining, guests board the “Stellarvator,” which simulates an ascent 220 miles above Earth with views of EPCOT shrinking below.
  • Panoramic Space Views: The dining area features massive digital windows displaying breathtaking views of space, with astronauts, satellites, and even an occasional lightsaber duel passing by.
  • Signature Space-Inspired Cuisine: The prix fixe menu features dishes with a futuristic flair, such as the Big Bang Burrata, Galactic Salmon, and Starry Calamari.
  • Creative Cocktails and Drinks: Specialty drinks like the Galaxy Spritz, Gamma Burst, and Black Hole Fashioned enhance the immersive experience.

The Ambiance and Theme

The restaurant is designed to feel like a space station, with sleek metallic finishes, dim lighting, and an ultra-modern aesthetic. The giant digital screens create an ever-changing view of Earth and deep space, making it feel like you’re genuinely dining among the stars.

The Disney Day Drinker (D3) Club

During our first visit to Space 220, we unexpectedly sat beside some fellow D3 Club members! This Disney Adult Club is so fun, and the members are everywhere if you know what to look for!

The Disney Day Drinker (D3) Club is an unofficial fan group that celebrates enjoying Disney parks with craft cocktails, specialty drinks, and lounge experiences. It’s not officially affiliated with Disney but has a strong community presence, particularly among Disney adults who love exploring the best bars and lounges across Walt Disney World.

Where to Find D3?

The D3 community is active on Facebook and Instagram, where members share drink reviews, Disney bar crawls, and tips on where to find the best cocktails and hidden lounges. Many members wear D3-branded shirts or pins, making spotting fellow club members in the parks easy.

Space 220 is popular among D3 members, thanks to its stellar cocktail menu and incredible bartenders. Since the Space 220 Lounge offers walk-up availability when possible, it’s a great place for a mid-day drink stop while exploring EPCOT.

Whether you’re a space enthusiast, a foodie, or just looking for a one-of-a-kind Disney dining experience, Space 220 delivers an unforgettable meal above the stars. With some planning and persistence, you can secure a spot in orbit and enjoy this cosmic culinary adventure!

  1. This is the first time I’ve learned about D3. I’m always the DD, but I bet there’s always good bar snacks to focus on while the others a sipping on cocktails.
