We took a relaxing and memorable Flagler Beach Vacation during the pandemic and did it in an RV! Mark and I haven’t taken any time off or traveled since Sept 2019…. we’ve canceled two trips for 2020, and like everyone else during this pandemic, we’ve become sad, sluggish, anxious, and overwhelmed. That was until some friends/coworkers reached out to see if we were up for a camping birthday adventure just a couple hours away. Um YES.

Flagler Beach is easily one of our favorite spots and didn’t require planes, trains, buses, or hotels, so we felt safe in the decision. Self-contained in an RV with our food and drinks, we headed east to the gold-shimmering sands of the Palm Coast for an extended celebration weekend.

We stayed in an ocean front campground called Beverly Beach Camptown and had an incredible Atlantic Ocean view with direct beach access (site 2). We spent each morning enjoying the sunrise, homemade breakfast and bloody mary’s and each day a new (socially distanced) adventure at local gems like Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, The Rocks – Washington Oaks State Park and The St Augustine Distillery and Prohibition Kitchen. Each afternoon we would carry out must-have wine slushies from the Flagler Beachfront Winery and head back to camp. All of which we highly recommend!

When you live on the Gulf Coast, you often forget how intense the waves of the Atlantic can be, but boy was it fun to remember. We spent hours daily floating, jumping, boogie boarding, and occasionally crashing in the ocean waves.

Our trip was basically fueled by Aldi, which kept the cost way down but the tastiness way up! We all highly recommend the Sangria!

We feel extremely grateful for the experience and would go back anytime. I hope you are safe, healthy, and happy wherever you live, and can get out for a local adventure in the sunshine!
